I am Tomas Owain Griffiths, trading as Patria Capital. I am the data controller for this site. Write to tom@patriacapital.co.uk.

What I collect

This site has no accounts and no signup form. If you write to me, I receive whatever you put in that message: usually your email address, name if you give it, and the content of the note.

If you join Members, payment and login sit on Substack or Whop. Those services collect what their own pages ask for. I then see enough to know you are a member and to write to you: typically name and email.

The host (Vercel) keeps ordinary server logs for a short time: IP address, browser, pages requested, and time. I do not use those logs to profile you.

Why

To reply to you. To run the desk. To keep records the law expects once money or a membership exists. The legal bases are legitimate interests in running a research site, contract if you are a member, and legal obligation for tax and accounting.

Where it is stored

Email lands in my mailbox. The site is hosted on Vercel. Member payment data stays with Substack or Whop. Some of that processing may sit outside the United Kingdom. I only use services that say they protect the transfer.

How long I keep it

Enquiry mail: for as long as the exchange needs, then I delete it unless I must keep it. Member records: while you are a member, and after that only as long as tax or legal records require. Hosting logs: whatever the host retains as part of running the server, usually days or weeks.

Your rights

You can ask for a copy of what I hold, ask me to correct it, or ask me to delete it. Write to tom@patriacapital.co.uk. I will answer without undue delay.

You can complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office (ICO), the UK regulator. ico.org.uk.
